The sun smiles and brings energy
In perfect harmony with the good weather, the solar power plant at the headquarters in Wendlingen went into operation on March 25, 2021. With this step, the site will achieve climate neutrality.
“We use a holistic solution here that covers all apsects of an energy generation and distribution. The photovoltaic system is part of this solution, which makes it possible for us to produce even more than our own requirements on sunny days,” says Mike Eberhardt, Prokurist (authorized signatory) of Chemoform AG.
The installed 1613.1 sqm generator area, on the roof of the Chemoform AG headquarters with 325.04 kWp = 270 kW maximum power at optimal solar irradiation will generate about 309,000 kWh of climate-neutral solar power per year. This is roughly equivalent to the annual demand of 100 private households.
With intelligent load management, more than 60% of the generated electricity is used by the company itself. Thus, one is normally self-sufficient from March to the end of September.
The excess electricity produced is fed into the public grid. Thus, the solar power plant contributes to the supply of the region with sustainably produced energy.
Facts and figures:
- Total generator area = 1613.1 sqm = 940 modules
- total generator power = 325,04 kWp = 270 kW
- Annual output = 309.000 kWh
- Own use share = 60%
- CO2 avoidance = 185,620 kg/year
